Breast cancer is by far the most common type of cancer among women worldwide. Research has shown that 1/3 of breast cancer can be attributed to lack of exercise and poor diet. Thus it is important for Curves to be involved in raising awareness about the risks of obestiy and educating women on how to exercise good breast health. Curves is helping to eradicate this disease in a variety of ways at the local, national and international levels. Our key local event is the Komen Race for the Cure. Did you know 75% of the funds raised stay right here in Northern Nevada to assist local women in their fight against breast cancer. And the other 25% goes toward national research effots to find a cure for breast cancer. Thank you to all who participated in the 2009 race!
Curves hosts blood drives several times per year. We are proud to be Heroes!
Curves is proud to support the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. We offer a promotional rate every March with the donation of one bag of food. This year we collected 3500 pounds of food from our generous members to support families in Northern Nevada!
